Last fall’s trip to Thailand’s highest peak was a memorable experience, especially for the hike through the jungle.
The park has another hiking trail which was closed for the rainy season, and I am eager to try it. The Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail starts just above the great pagodas, climbs steeply through the cloud forest to a high ridge, and loops back.
This being a package tour, there are several other stops along the way. A hill-tribe village. The great pagodas, and their gardens. More flowers are in bloom now, including a patch of California poppies!
The climb is exhausting; the view obscured by smog–but at least the heavy breathing required is at an altitude above the smog.
Another wonderful trip.
